Straws instead of paintbrushes? Absolutely! Who says you can only paint with a brush and your hand? Have fun blowing into a straw to paint a masterpiece. Now’s the chance to explore awesome process art with easy materials. Learn a little bit about abstract art in the “process”!
What is Blow Painting?
Blow painting with straws is a wonderful example of process art for kids. It focuses on the creative journey rather than the end result. The beauty of blow painting lies in its spontaneity and the element of surprise; as kids blow through the straw, they have limited control over the exact outcome, allowing for a sense of exploration and experimentation.
Each breath creates unique patterns and textures, fostering a sense of discovery and excitement throughout the process. Kids are encouraged to observe how the colors blend and interact. Blow painting with straws also promotes fine motor skills as kids control their breath to manipulate the paint. Overall, blow painting with straws embodies the essence of process art, which focuses on the experience of creating rather than the final product.
It’s an easy painting activity for kids!
