Ingredients you need for the Cheesy Ground Beef Dip
2 pounds extra-lean ground beef2 jalapeño peppers, seeded and diced1 onion, diced4 cloves garlic, grated2 teaspoons cornstarch, optional (or flour)2 teaspoons kosher salt, or to taste1 teaspoon ground black pepper1 teaspoon cayenne pepper, or to taste2 cups low-sodiumchicken broth1 cup strained tomatoes (or diced tomatoes or ground tomatoes)1 tablespoon Dijon mustard1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese, divided
Directions
1. To make the ground beef dip: Place ground beef, jalapeño, onion, garlic, salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper in a large braiser pan over medium-high heat.
2.Cook the meat, breaking it up with a wooden spoon. Cook the ground beef, stirring regularly, until most of the moisture has evaporated and the mixture is crumbly and begins to brown – about 15 minutes.
3. Stir in chicken broth, cornstarch (if using), strained tomato, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Give it a good stir and bring the beef mixture to a simmer. Reduce heat to medium and continue cooking, stirring from time to time, until mixture is thickened, about 25 minutes.
4.Top the ground beef dip with half of the shredded cheddar. Poke cheese down into the dip with a fork, stirring lightly, and top with the remaining half of the cheese.
5. Place pan with the ground beef dip under the broiler and broil until cheddar is browned and bubbly, about 5 minutes. Sprinkle the ground beef dip with red chili pepper flakes and chopped parsley, and serve hot, warm, or at room temperature.Enjoy! ❤️
