Let’s sneak a peek at the tablescape for our Valentines Brunch for Two!

Valentines Brunch ~ A Romantic Tablescape for Two (1)

Last week we talked about a Valentines Double Date, but what if you want to spend a nice romantic meal with just your sweetie? So many celebration options, and here’s one just now.

Cozy Spot for Two

We usually eat at the dining room table or upstairs with a movie. But sometimes it’s fun to spice things up a bit and choose somewhere out of the ordinary.

It doesn’t have to be complicated. For our Valentines brunch, I just set up a card table in a corner window. Especially for a romantic occasion like this, having a small table for two in a different location is almost like going out somewhere new!

Romantic Valentines Brunch Flowers

In order to keep that romance going, I made a pretty little centerpiece, including pink carnations from the grocery store.

The daphne in our yard is just starting to bloom, so I grabbed a few sprigs to put in as well. The scent is heavenly, plus it’s one of my husband’s favorite flowers!

For the finishing touch, I slipped in a branch of seeded eucalyptus for some lacy movement.

Soft Valentines Colors

I’ve always loved white, cream, and gold, but it seems like lately I just can’t get enough of it. Maybe I’m making up for not having any snow this winter!

Whatever the reason, I used a snowy white lace tablecloth over a white quilted coverlet for our Valentines brunch table.

Then I added just a tiny bit of color with some blush damask napkins.

But the loveliest part was this gorgeous blush voile sheer from Made on 23rd.

The voile was not only beautiful in itself, it was good for color and texture. And an added benefit was a bit more privacy, since this window overlooks our shared driveway and the sidewalk.

A Touch of Gold for Our Valentines Brunch

With the base layer finished, then, I went for my old favorite – gold and white place settings.

These chargers and my gold flatware are my version of neutral – gold honestly goes with just about anything.

The plates are my everyday whiteware – another foundation piece of my tablescape wardrobe. As well as being a lovely background to a headline salad plate, they go right into the dishwasher.

And they’re super sturdy. We’ve had some of these plates for over 20 years!

And to top it all off, we have these fun monogrammed salad plates, which I thought were particularly appropriate for the two of us.

I got them several years ago at Williams Sonoma. Last I checked, there were still a few left at their online store. But if you find they don’t have the ones you’re looking for, I’ve linked some other beautiful styles below.

Sparkling Crystal

Oh crystal! One of my very favorite things of all time!

This stunning goblet/vase/candle holder/grapefruit dish (!) was a wedding present from SIL and BIL. And isn’t it gorgeous? Perfect for our Valentines Brunch.

These crystal highballs I usually use for water glasses. They’re heavy and very elegant.

I love shopping at antique stores, and that’s where I got the champagne flutes. This kind of glass is usually pretty easy to track down at vintage markets, and I also found some very similar ones, which I’ve linked below.

Sparkling Wine & Grapefruit

And now something sparkling to put in our glasses! As you can see, we had sparkling wine with a little grapefruit slice on top.

Valentines Brunch Menu

This is really a very simple but elegantly delicious Valentines brunch menu. I’m kind of on a grapefruit roll, so our first course is this delicious .

For our main course, how about some pecan oatmeal french toast? Oh it’s so good, and one of my favorite brunch foods. I’ll have to get that recipe up on the blog soon – maybe in time for Mother’s Day!

And for dessert, let’s have a bit of delicious Chocolate Hazelnut Tart with some freshly brewed coffee. Or tea, in my case. Mmmmmmmm!

The great thing about these recipes, is that you can prep almost all the ingredients ahead of time. Then all you have to do on the Valentines brunch morning, is to put them together and cook up the toast!

Then pour your sparkle of choice, and invite your Sweetie to share a romantic Valentines brunch for two!
